Once your selections are locked in, the order is sent to our team at the Boardsmith assembly center. That's where the real magic begins.

From Order to Build: Inside the Workshop

I sat down with Kris, the IT and Operations Manager at Glorious, who oversees the entire assembly process. He gave me a glimpse of what happens once an order hits their system.

“We get a variety of builds that range from simple to more complex designs,” he shares. “Once the order comes through, it’s hand-built by one of our experienced keyboard technicians. Depending on the complexity, a build can take up to 45 minutes to complete.”

I asked Kris what his favorite part of the building process was, and he said it was watching the keyboards come to life with the unique color combinations you create. “Most of the fun is seeing what color options our customers have chosen. It’s always a fun discussion in the assembly center—everyone judges the color combos!”

From minimalist, sleek themes to playful, vibrant setups, each build tells a story. Kris recalls a standout board that left an impression on him— Glorious founder, Shazim’s build. “The combination of the classic white keycaps, Sage green top case with the contrasting black coiled cable and black knob, and touch of gold with the accent badge. That one was super cool.”

Before your keyboard is packed up and sent your way, it goes through testing by our Quality Control (QC) team. We’re not just looking for performance here—every board is inspected to ensure it looks just as amazing as it feels.

Our QC team ensures that:

- All switches are working correctly and feel consistent  

- The keycaps are placed correctly 

- The firmware is working properly

- The RGB lighting is flawless and glowing just how it should  

- There’s zero compromise on build quality
