Everything We Know So Far About Siege X

Rainbow Six Siege stands as one of the best tactical FPS in the market, boasting a strong and dedicated community, as well as a consolidated esports scene. Over the years, it has already undergone numerous changes and updates, solidifying its place as one of Ubisoft’s flagship titles.

On February 16, just ahead of the Six Invitational 2025 Grand Final, the studio and publisher revealed that “a major evolution” is on the way for Siege, named Siege X, which will be fully unveiled on March 13th, at an in-person event in Atlanta.

Although we’re still a couple of weeks away from the official reveal, and the trailer and blog post have kept details about Siege X mostly scarce, we already know a couple of things about the upcoming update.

First off, Ubisoft has made it clear that Siege X is not meant to be a sequel to Rainbow Six Siege, but rather a major update that will significantly transform the game as we know it. As such, one of the key highlights of this evolution will be its graphical and audio upgrades, which are set to enhance the overall player experience.

Alongside these technical upgrades, Ubisoft has also promised that Siege X will introduce “deepened tactical gameplay and new ways to play the game”. This is an exciting prospect for Siege’s future, especially considering the game already boasts over 70 operators, 20 maps, and a variety of game modes, offering players a broad range of possibilities. It seems that this new evolution will build on the solid foundations of Siege, taking the game one step further.

The deep practical aspect of Rainbow Six Siege is undoubtedly one of the core elements of the experience, both for players and developers, and it is what truly sets the game apart from its FPS competitors. “We’re expanding and reinforcing the very foundation of Siege to ensure it remains the pinnacle of tactical PvP first-person shooter”, said game director Joshua Mills during the onstage presentation.
